I work with both individuals and groups, and also teach classes. 

Counseling

​Are you willing to dive deep? Then we might do wonderful work together! 
I like models that recognize our individual journeys (because one size doesn't fit all) and that include growth as part of their model (because we want to get out of our boxes, not be put into one). Two frameworks for self-understanding I find particularly valuable are the Enneagram and North Nodes. (You'll find some links about each in the Resources section.)

I use many tools in addition to talking together, including Guided Nature Meditation, Introspective Tarot Reading, affirmations, creative play, erotic power reclamation, and more. 

When I was young, my family traveled long distances to visit family each summer. A crucial role on those road trips was the navigator. The navigator was in charge, not only of following the route on the map (in those pre-GPS days), but also of sharing information about what to expect, suggesting alternate routes when problems arose, keeping the driver awake, having snacks at hand and refilling their coffee, and playing good music. That is kind of how I think of myself now -- you are the driver. I can't give you all the answers or dictate your journey. But I excel at preparing you for that journey, giving you an idea what to expect, helping you through bumps in the road, and helping you stay nourished along the way.

Wellness Coaching
I am trained through UNC-Greensboro's Wellness Coaching Program, and follow its framework for wellness coaching clients. Wellness goes far beyond physical fitness!

"A wellness coach will help give you structure, accountability, and support to allow you to learn and grow beyond what you may be able to do alone. A wellness coach is a trained person who will work with you to help you find ways to continue along a path to a healthier lifestyle. The coach looks at all areas of your life prior to helping you develop ideas for making changes. A coach can help you identify and clarify what’s important to you and will be your partner to help you make those changes. All coaching sessions are confidential."
A wellness coach can help you:
  • Identify a focus area
  • Create a plan to work toward the desired changes
  • Provide accountability and support as you work through your plan

Groups
Teaching is in my blood, and I love to share information, ideas and research that can help expand a group's worldview and abilities. I also love to lead practicums that help groups of people try out new tools for being in the world. I have taught classes, led seminars, or conducted staff trainings on topics including white privilege, welcoming and affirming differences in children, oral history and documentation, ethics of engagement, story-based program evaluation and more.
