A Little Story...
about how I started doing tarot. Before I got married in 2003, my sister hosted a sort of bachelorette party for me, that included chair massages, tarot readings, henna painting, and a belly dance lesson. Everyone got miniature tarot decks for party favors. I looked at my deck, but didn't know the first thing about it. I even ordered a book about tarot, but the info (78 cards!) was overwhelming, and I never read it all.
A few years ago, that miniature tarot deck turned up on my bedside table. I didn't have any idea how it got there. I started looking through it, and could feel a sort of energy in the cards. I started doing little 1 to 3 card readings -- I had to look up every card to see what it meant as I had no idea. But every time, it was dead on!
So, tarot really came to me. It seems to be a natural gift, or as I think about it more, a way the Universe likes to work through me, as I think It's doing more than I am! As I've learned more and more about it, it really connects to my interest in rich Jungian archetypes, imagery, and the power of story.
My Philososphy
Tarot for me connects to what Jung called the Collective Unconscious--to rich symbolism and archetypes that can help you relate to your life story and purpose. Readings provide insight into what's going on below the surface, and help you tap into your deepest self and your highest self (and the Divine, if you are open to it) to gain understanding about yourself, situations or relationships in your life, or your larger life trajectory.
My approach to tarot is not predictive; meaning, I don't do fortune telling. That doesn't mean the information isn't useful for making decisions, but the way some people think of it -- "Will I get the job?" -- I don't do. Although perhaps I could point to where you're likely to end up if you continue as you are, we all have free will, and your future depends on thousands of decisions you make daily. (On the other hand, I have been told, "This was better than therapy!")

How I Work
If you're willing, I like to know your North Node, because it affects the best way to ask questions for good results. That just requires knowing your birth date (and is optional). We'll talk some about what's on your mind, what you're interested in gaining from the reading, and decide what kind of spread to do. After we turn the cards over, I'll explain some things about them and how they interact, and we'll talk together about how that might relate to your query. (I'm also happy to consult about a spread you've done yourself that you'd like some help interpreting.) Because I think we can all benefit from learning to tune into our deepest selves, and understand what Life wants for us, I'm more interested in helping clients do that than giving them my own pat answers. Deep insights, answers to questions, and guidance on one's life path emerge. Also, after tuning in to a client's issue or desire, I very often receive follow-up messages meant for them, and will pass them along via text or email (a useful link, an affirmation, a resource). You are welcome to record sessions. I prefer to work in person but will also consult via Skype or FaceTime. I use Rider Waite Smith decks. |
