Welcome! I am Joy - an activist, folklorist, mystic, social systems theorist, and witch, among other labels. (Learn more about me here.)
Are you longing for a way to make a difference for good in the world without being sucked into despair? Are you looking for a realistic path to bliss that's neither some facile "prosperity gospel" nor a glorification of suffering? Do you want a way to engage with the world that doesn't require staying constantly outraged, guilty, or despairing, and also doesn't involve "checking out" completely?
Are you longing for health in a much deeper sense than tracking your BMI or step count? Are you recovering from a negative relationship, or longing for true intimacy? Have you had a recent awakening to something about your self or society that you need to process and explore?
My childhood summers always included a very long car trip to visit family in Knoxville. I grew up seeing the importance of having a "navigator" -- the person who held the map (long before GPS!), who offered their knowledge about the road ahead and sussed out alternate routes in case of bad traffic, who kept the driver alert, pouring coffee and getting out snacks (and sometimes whacking the driver on the shoulder, or making them pull over and rest!), who kept the music going.
Think of me as a life Navigator -- I can't take your journey for you, but I'm pretty awesome at supporting you along the way!
